I'm only renting an apartment in the home where I live, tours are in person, I have my own application and I never required bank information from tenants. I liked the affiliation with Realtor.com, which I trust. When Avast added verification that required downloading an app in order to transmit a selfie, in addition to a photo of government ID, I was done. I have lived in the home for over 20 years and it's very easy to verify my identity. I would use Avail again, but customer service would not unlock my account without the selfie. Dealing with customer service was a highly impersonal and negative experience, which it did not have to be.
